发明名称 SUBLIMATION TYPE THERMAL TRANSFER RECORDING MEDIUM
摘要 PURPOSE:To improve many-time printing characteristics and to enhance image quality by setting the surface roughness of an ink layer to a specific value. CONSTITUTION:An ink layer is provided on a substrate so that a dye supply layer containing at least an undissolved granular sublimable dye and an org. binder and a dye transfer contributing layer containing at least a molecularly dispersible sublimable dye and an org. binder are respectively laminated to said substrate in this order. The surface roughness of the ink layer is measured according to JIS BO601 and, when center line average roughness is Ra <=1.0mum or Ra >1.0mum, an uneveness average interval is Sm <= 10mum. In order to form the ink layer having desired surface characteristics, there are a dye particle size control method, a method once applying forming an ink layer to a member having smoothness equal to or more than the above mentioned roughness to transfer the same to the substrate and a method applying and forming the ink layer to smooth the same using a metal roll.
