<p>PURPOSE:To remove fluorine up to the concentration wherein the gas may be discharged to the atmosphere by a relatively small apparatus, by using a liquid mixture of alkali sulfite and caustic alkali as an absorbing solution at the time of the absorption and removal of a fluorine component from a fluorine- containing gas. CONSTITUTION:When a fluorine gas is absorbed and removed from fluorine- containing gas, a liquid mixture of alkali sulfite and caustic alkali is used as an absorbing solution. For example, a packed tower is used as the absorbing tower 1 and packed with Raschig rings as a packing material 2. The liquid mixture of alkali sulfite and caustic alkali is used as the absorbing solution 3a of an absorbing solution tank 3 and introduced into the upper end part of the absorbing tower 1 by a recirculation pump 4 to be recirculated to the tank 3. Further, a fluorine-containing waste gas introducing pipe 6 and an outlet pipe 7 of treated gas wherein fluorine is removed through the contact with the absorbing solution 3a are provided to the absorbing tower 1. By this relatively small apparatus, fluorine in waste gas can be reduced to 1ppm or less.</p> |
