摘要 PURPOSE:To increase the setting accuracy of an azimuth and at the same time to enhance the productivity for a titled head, by forming a groove reaching a substrate in a metallic magnetic thin film having a thickness equal to the width of a track. CONSTITUTION:Metallic magnetic thin films 5 and 5 of double layers are made of ''Sendust '' in 10mum thickness on a substrate 1 by a sputtering process. Then a groove 6 having a V-shape section and reaching the surface of the substrate 1 at its tip is formed by a diamond bite to the film 5 in terms of a broaching process. An 84 deg. angle (6 deg. azimuth theta) is set at the left side of both slopes of the grooves 6 to the surface of the substrate 1, and a 164 deg. angle is set at the right side respectively. An SiO2 film is formed on the side slope serving as a gap surface of a magnetic head by the sputtering process, and a gap spacer 7 of 0.5mum thickness is obtained. Then a magnetic thin film 8 of ''Sendust '' material is coated to fill up the groove 6 completely, and then the film 8 is removed by leaving the filled-up area of the groove 6 by a lapping process. Then a window for winding is formed.
