VIDEO SERVER SCHEDULING FOR SIMULTANEOUS READ-WRITE REQUEST

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a disk scheduling process supporting a category relating to a read request and a category relating to a write request by inserting the read request and the write request into a common disk cue and processing the read request and the write request which is positioned at the head of the cue. SOLUTION: A write request is inserted into a disk cue 32. Then, a read request is inserted into the disk cue 32 and the read request is processed (actually read out from an MSFS disk 30). Thereafter, the write request is processed (actually written onto the MSFS disk 30). If it is found that a schedule generation process inserts the write request into the cue 32 on the scanning order without violating not only a deadline of a new write request but also deadlines of read and write requests already present on the cue 32, the new write request is then inserted into the disk cue 32 on its scanning order.
