PURPOSE:To efficiently and easily produce the subject tanshinones useful as physiologically active substances and drug components by culturing a slice of TANJIN (Schinopsis lerentzii, a vegetable belonging to family Labiatae) to differentiate and induce an indefinite root. CONSTITUTION:The objective tanshinones can be produced by culturing a slice of Schinopsis lerentzii to differentiate and induce an indefinite root. Preferably, the objective compound is produced by treating the leaves, stalks, etc., of Schinopsis lerentzii with Agrobacterium rhizogenes (ATCC 15834) to perform the transformation with Ri plasmid existing in the rhizogenes and culturing the induced hair root. |
