The invention relates to a device for receiving and transferring pieces, bags (1) or bag chains wound into rolls, made continuously from a flexible web of material (F) by cutting (3) said web transversely with respect to the feeding direction, having laterally spaced coplanar depositing arms (9) which are connected to a hollow hub (101) mounted rotatably on an axle of rotation and connected to an underpressure source, in order to seize and to secure a piece at a transfer station and to deposit and to release it at a stacking station, in which device the respectively coplanar depositing arms are connected via a strip-shaped cross-member running transversely with respect to the feeding direction to form a deposition grid, and the deposition grids are arranged at mutually parallel positions about the fixed axle of rotation and are guided over a circle.
