<p>This invention relates to a method for fabricating a vehicle hub, bearing, and brake disc assembly wherein the braking surface (29a, 30a) of the brake disc is oriented in a predetermined relationship relative to the outer race of the bearing assembly (15). The method comprises the steps of: (a) providing a vehicle hub (14) including a hub flange (20); (b) installing a bearing assembly (15) about the vehicle hub, the bearing assembly including an outer race (32); (c) securing a brake disc (26) to the hub flange of the vehicle hub, the brake disc including a braking surface; (d) supporting the vehicle hub, bearing, and brake disc assembly on a machining apparatus; (e) using the machining apparatus to machine the braking surface of the brake disc whereby the braking surface (29a, 30a) is oriented in a predetermined relationship relative to the outer race (32) of the bearing assembly (15).</p> |
