Known nose rings or suction stoppers consist of two relatively complicatedly designed parts which are interconnected by means of an expensive clamping device. The nose ring is to be made constructionally simply, i.e. in one piece, and easy to manufacture as well as adjustable within given limits. The nose ring or suction stopper with adjustable slot width consists of a one-piece slotted body (1) made of an elastic material, and of a force-introduction element (4) which engages in the adjacent region of the slot (2) and is connected to an adjustable clamping element (5). As a result of the simple adjustment possibility of the slot width, the nose ring makes possible perfect fastening in the nose cartilage of domestic animals, i.e. it can be used universally for young and old animals. <IMAGE>
