The connection device (1) uses a flexible foil with an electrical connection path and an electrically conductive adhesive. The workpieces (2) to be connected are contained in a workpiece recess (3), against which a heated die (4) is pressed, for adhering and electrically connecting the workpieces together using combined heat and pressure. Spring edge elements (6,7), e.g. conductive metal strips, are provided on opposite sides of the recess, with the spacing between them matched to the width of the workpieces.
