PURPOSE:To obtain a thermal transfer recording material being superior in resistance to sticking, in lubricating properties, and releasability and never adversely affecting a thermal transfer device by providing a back layer containing a specific organic phosphoric compound on the rear surface of a substrate layer. CONSTITUTION:A thermal transfer recording material is provided with at least a thermal transfer ink layer on a surface of a substrate layer. On a rear surface of the substrate layer, a back layer containing an organic phosphoric compound shown by a general formula (I) and/or (II) is formed. In the formula, R represents alkyl having 8 or more carbon atoms, M represents an alkaline earth metal, aluminum, or zinc, and (m) represents the same integer as the valence of the metal M. The organic phosphoric compound shown by the general formula (I) and/or (II) is superior in resistance to sticking, lubricating properties, releasability, and heat resistance and contains no metal corrosive alkaline metal in its molecule, therefore having no possibility of adversely affecting a thermal transfer device. As the substrate layer, a resin film, such as a polyester film and a polyimide film, glassine paper, and condenser paper are exemplified with a preferable thickness from several micrometers to several tens of micrometers. |
