Known metering and distributing valves generally have one control outlet for each cylinder of an internal combustion engine. It is particularly important that the fuel flow from each control outlet is the same. As with any technical appliance, there is a certain scatter here too. The object of the invention is to minimise this scatter. The valve according to the invention contains a slotted bush (10) with a sliding bore (18) and at least two control openings (16) with associated leading edges (42). In order to make the scatter as small as possible, the leading edges (42) should form an obtuse angle (50) with the sliding bore (18). The valve proposed makes it possible to reduce the scatter between the fuel flows emerging from the individual control outlets. The valve serves to meter and divide a medium into at least two part-flows, particularly in a fuel injection system of a mixture-compressing internal combustion engine with applied ignition. <IMAGE>
