PURPOSE:To simplify the structure of the above sensor and to shorten the time for measurement by reducing the hydrogen peroxide formed by decompos ing glucose, etc., in an enzyme immobilized film by the electron transfer media and bivalent iron ions in a reduction function layer. CONSTITUTION:The enzyme sensor utilizes a reduction catalyst reaction by the electron transfer in the reduction function layer. The sensor has the composite structure formed by subjecting the sodium salt contained in the viscosity shown in figure and an [Ru(NH3)6]<3+> complex as the electron transfer medium to an exchange substitution and depositing the enzyme immobilized layer thereon. If, therefore, the sensor is brought into contact with a glucose liquid, the hydrogen peroxide formed by the oxidation reaction is reduced down to water by the bivalence of the iron ions taken into the viscouse layer, by which the reducing current is generated in a conductive base body. This current value has a proportional relation with the concn. of glucose and the concn. of the glucose can be measured by measuring this current. In the figure, white circles denote oxygen; double circles denote hydrogen; black circles denote aluminum or magnesium, and dots and small white circles denote atoms of silicon or aluminum, respectively. |
