The swashplate compressor has a lubricating oil reserve in the lower part of the swash plate chamber (7) and in the oil sump (8) on the floor of the compressor housing (1,2). A refrigerant/lubricant separating chamber (25) is provided to separate oil picked up by the gaseous refrigerant as the refrigerant leaves the swash plate chamber via a channel (27).
