The high-pressure plant having a control valve (17) which periodically controls the flow of fluid from one of two reciprocating pistons (8,9) via connecting pipes (472,473). The control arrangement also controls the return flow from the cylinders by conducting the fluid to a motor (97) which is driven by the flow to drive the control valve through rotary motion or periodically varying motion. USE/ADVANTAGE - The plant can be used as a high pressure pump or control unit in fixed or in vehicle applications. The harmful influences of the expansion of the compressed fluids are overcome.
