发明名称 SUBLIMABLE THERMAL TRANSFER RECORDING MEDIUM
摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain a recording medium superior in sheet shelf stability by a method wherein an organic binder contained in a dye transfer contributing layer is composed of at least one selected from among specific resin groups and an expoxy resin. CONSTITUTION:A sublimable thermal transfer recording medium is formed by laminating a dye supply layer 4 and a dye transfer contributing layer 5, each of which is formed by dispersing a sublimable dye in an organic binder, on a substrate 1 in this order from the substrate side. The organic binder contained in the dye transfer contributing layer 5 is composed of at least one selected from among groups of polyvinyl butyral, ethyl cellulose, cellulose acetate propionate, and satd. polyester resins and an epoxy resin. The epoxy resin having a number average molecular weight of about 10000 or more is esp. preferable. The use of an epoxy resin having a number average molecular weight less than 10000 tends to deteriorate characteristics, such as heat resistance, oil resistance, and printing density. The resin selected from among the polyvinyl butyral or other resin groups and the expoxy resin are preferably used in a weight ratio of the former: the latter = (90-20):(10-80) from the standpoint of oil resistance and printing density.
