Fuel injection pump for internal combustion engines with an electromagnetic servo-actuator (29) arranged in a servo-actuator housing (37), which actuator acts by way of a control shaft (30) on an annular slide valve (28), situated in the pump internal chamber (9) and displaceably arranged on a pump piston (13), for adjustment of the fuel injection quantity. For producing a return force, a torsion-bar spring (47), which is connected on one side to the control shaft (30) and on the other side by way of an adjusting pin (50) and a sleeve (51) to the servo-actuator housing (37), is arranged in a blind bore (46) in the control shaft (30). Friction-free support of the control shaft (30) and a return moment, varying as a linear function of the angle of rotation of the control shaft (30), is achieved by means of the torsion-bar spring (47). The adjusting pin (50) and the sleeve (51) make it possible to adjust the axial play of the control shaft (30) and to preload the torsion-bar spring (47). <IMAGE>
