PURPOSE:To fairly remove grinding chips sticking to a sanding belt and prolong the life of the belt by making the endless sanding belt of a permeable non-woven belt and providing the belt with air jet sections making pressured air flow from the inside to the outside of the belt. CONSTITUTION:A workpiece conveyed by a material feeder 1 is ground and polished by a running endless sanding belt 10. This sanding belt 10 is made of a permeable non-woven belt which allows pressured air to flow from the inside to the outside of the belt 10 through the air nozzles of air jet sections 12 and flow out of the side of an air collecting duct 13. At this moment the grinding chips sticking to the surface of the belt 10 are pushed outerword together with and collected in the collecting duct 13. Thus, the grinding chips can be fairly removed from the endless sanding belt 10. This allows the belt 10 to perform grinding and polishing as fairly as possible. |
