PURPOSE:To reduce a starting current and to prevent insufficient capacity of a power source at the time of starting by dividing a plurality of primary side armatures into primary side blocks to be simultaneously conducted, and sequentially conducting the blocks at a time difference until the transient state at the starting time is finished. CONSTITUTION:Primary side armatures (primary side) 21-28,... of a linear induction motor 20 are arranged in a plurality of rows on a traveling road R on which a vehicle W is traveled, and so blocked as to be simultaneously conducted. When a vehicle W is started, a starting current first flows in the first block 31, and after the transient state of the current at the starting time is finished, the second block 32 is conducted. Similarly, the third, fourth,..., blocks 33, 34,... are conducted at a time difference in which the transient state at the starting time is finished. Thus, the number of the primary sides to be started to be simultaneously conducted can be reduced to prevent insufficient capacity of a power source at the time of starting. |
