COMPOUND FOR SEALING SOILS

The present invention deals with compounds for sealing soils which may be used for sealing-walls, horizontal barrier-layers or dump-linings. They contain, as bonding agents, a mixture consisting of a waterglass solution and alkyltrialkoxy silanes and, as solids, a mixture of clay minerals and silicate fillers. Because of the special bonding agent, the filler content may amount to as much as 95% of the total compound. Seals produced from this compound are highly impermeable to liquids containing pollutants and walls made therefrom have outstanding compressive-strength values.
