PURPOSE:To obtain shearing of a thin and hard plate with good dimentional tolerances by having the rotational shafts of a pair of disc cutting edges intersect each other in such a manner that the space therebetween is negative on the plate infeed side and positive on the outlet side. CONSTITUTION:A pair of upper and lower disc cutting edges 10, 11 are disposed with their rotational shafts 10a, 11a, intersecting each other respectively displaceably certain degrees theta in the opposite directions to each other on the planes parallel to the feeding surface of a plate 1 in such a manner that the side space between the two cutting edges 10, 11 is negative before shearing and positive after shearing, and gear boxes for supporting the shafts 10a, 11a are driven slidably in the horizontal direction to a frame of a shearing apparatus. The gradual shearing and consequent small shearing area reduce side pressure ratio (ratio of side pressure to shearing force), weakening the action for changing said space and consequently improving dimentional tolerances for the plate width. |
