PURPOSE:To cut plural long grooves, each of which is blocked up at both ends, into a cylindrical internal surface in a highly efficient manner. CONSTITUTION:A cutter 18 is secured at a right angle to a cutter arbor 16, and the cutter 18 clamped to the cutter arbor 16 carries out what is known as a braying circular motion by rotation and revolution of the cutter arbor 16. a work 1 is supported stationarily by a clamp device (unillustrated herein). As for the cutter arbor 16, it is titled with an inclination alpha to a spindle axial center 14. Therefore, while rotating a spindle 14, a table 11 is shifted toward the work 1 through a cylinder 12 and, when the cutter is made to move horizontally to the work, long grooves are continuously cut in a work internal surface by means of cutting strokes. |
