PURPOSE:To obtain an underformed body without hindrance, in forming the honeycomb denitration catalyst comprising (A) a sulfate of V or the like and (B) Ba sulfate or the like, by extrusion-forming a powdery mixture containing the specified amounts of (A) and (B) having a specific particle size. CONSTITUTION:In forming the honeycomb denitration catalyst comprising (A) V and/or iron sulfates and (B) Ba sulfate and/or TiO2, the powdery mixture of (A) and (B) having the distribution that its 80wt% or more is composed of particles below 100mu in size is mixed with water to form clayey matter and then extrusion-formed into a honeycomb structure by an extrusion-forming machine. The ratio of (A) to (B) in said powdery mixtue is generally (A):(B)=1:1-100, pref. 1:3-20, by wt. The amount of water to be added to the powdery mixture for preparing the calyey matter is properly made at 3-20wt% on the basis of the powdery mixture in general, in a manner such that the obtd. clayey matter pref. has hardness in the range of 1-20kg/cm<2>. |
