<p>PURPOSE:To enable a cap support body to be smoothly inserted into a cathode cap by providing an outwardly tapered section for the inner surface at the end face of an opening. CONSTITUTION:A substrate metallic plate 10 is punched out of blank, the peripheral section of its is formed with the first thinned section 3 while thickened section 2 is left over at the center of it, and the peripheral section of the first thinned section 3 is formed with the second thinned section 7 thinner than the first thinned section 3. In the second place, blanking is processed with only a small portion of the second thinned section 7 left over, drawing process and side wall ironing process are performed so that a cathode cap in a cap shape is formed while an outwardly tapered section 6 is being formed in the inner surface of the end face of an opening. The tapered section 6 will therefore act as a guide member when a cap support body is inserted. By this constitution, the cap support body can thereby be inserted with ease.</p> |
