<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a cultured product rich in essential oil in high efficiency by culturing an aromatic crop body belonging to genus Viola and culturing the obtained callus or indefinite bud in the presence of a yeast-originated extract under irradiation of light. CONSTITUTION:An aromatic crop belonging to genus Viola such as Viola grypoceras is cultured and the obtained callus or indefinite bud is, in the case of using a callus or indefinite bud prepared by conventional culture process, added with a yeast-originated extract such as a commercially available yeast extract, yeast cell or yeast cell sterilized with an autoclave, etc., and extracted from Saccharomyces cerevisiae, etc., and the callus or indefinite bud is cultured under the irradiation of light at about >=3,000 Lux for 2-10 days. Essential oil components are separated from the cultured callus or indefinite bud by conventional process such as the extraction with a solvent (e.g. petroleum ether). The productivity of perfumery component can be remarkably improved by this process.</p> |
