NEW CHOLINE OXIDASE AND ITS PRODUCTION

PURPOSE:To produce stabilized choline oxidase which is stable at 7 to 9pH and 50 deg.C by culturing an actinomycetes which is capable of producing choline oxidase and of growing over 45 deg.C in a medium. CONSTITUTION:An actinomycetes which is capable of producing choline oxidase and of growing over 45 deg.C is cultured in a medium and then choline oxidase is collected from the culture mixture. The resultant choline oxidase has optimal pH of from 7.5 to 9 (corresponding to Tris hydrochloride buffer solution), stable pH ranging from 7 to 9 (Tris hydrochloride buffer), isoelectric point of from 4.5 to 5.5 (isoelectric focusing using carrier Ampholite) and optimal temperature of from 40 to 55 deg.C (Tris hydrochloride buffer solution). A preferably example of actinomycetes is microorganisms selected from Streptomyces and Thermoactinomyces.
