摘要 PURPOSE:To prevent the occurrence of irregularity in resin filled along seal grooves and maintain good sealing quality along the whole of a sealed portion by using a rod-shaped thermosetting resin as a material for filling the seal grooves in a porous and carbonic board having gas permeability characteristics. CONSTITUTION:Seal grooves 53 are formed along the respective sides of a set of opposite sides in a gas distribution board 5 used for the single cell construction of a fuel cell. The thickness d1 of the distribution board 5 is so made that the depth d2 of a web part 54 as a resin impregnated seal layer comes to have the predetermined value as a result of resin impregnation, thereby strengthening the board 5 and ensuring easy handling. When the aforesaid gas distribution board 5 of gas permeability is connected to a separator 4 having non-gas permeable and electrically conductive quality, a solid rod-shaped resin filler 56 is filled in the seal grooves 53. In addition, the filler 56 is melted and a part of the molten resin is solidified in the grooves 53. The remaining portion of the resin is made to impregnate the gas permeable board around the grooves 53 and solidified.
