PURPOSE:To prevent propagation of an error attended with a code error by synchronizing each initializing timing of a prediction coding and a memory write operation in a data storage memory writing the coding code obtained through prediction coding of an input data into a memory. CONSTITUTION:When a write reset signal is applied to first in first out memory type picture memory FIFO 22, a write reset signal is applied to a prediction device 20 simultaneously. An output of the prediction device 20 is set to a prescribed setting value. As a result, a coding code outputted from a quantizer 14 is a head code and written to a head address of the FIFO head address. Similarly, when a readout reset signal is applied to the FIFO 22, it is applied also to the prediction device 28 simultaneously and the output of the prediction device 28 is set to a prescribed setting value. Thus, the circuit constitution is simplified and the initializing of the decoder is surely attained. |
