摘要 PURPOSE:To suppress variation in measured value due to fluctuations of the fuel in a tank and to obtain a remaining fuel amount measuring device for a vehicle which has good measurement responsiveness by calculating the weighted means of time series data obtained by sampling detection data on the remaining amount of the fuel. CONSTITUTION:The remaining fuel amount output of an electrode couple, etc., which varies in electrostatic capacity with the remaining amount of the fuel is passed through an oscillation circuit, frequency divider, etc., to obtain a frequency division output of a period corresponding to the remaining amount of the fuel, and the frequency division output is supplied to a signal processing circuit 28 brought under the process control of a microcomputer. Then, mean period data which corresponds to the remaining amount of the fuel and is based upon the sampled time series data is obtained by a mean period measurement part 281 and sent directly to a remaining amount arithmetic part 284 through a run judgement part 282 when the output of a vehicle speeds sensor 29 is zero. The weighted mean of the mean period data is calculated by a weighted mean processing part 283 in sequence during a vehicle run wherein the output of the sensor 29 is not zero, and then sent to the arithmetic part 284. The variation in measured value due to fluctuations of the fuel is suppressed by the weighted mean processing and the need to extend the averaging time is eliminated, so that the responsiveness does not decrease.
