PURPOSE:To prevent continuous substances to be fired from cracking and breaking off by arranging them along the continuous plates made of a refractory which are placed so that they cover the inner walls of multi-stacked muffles. CONSTITUTION:Cylindrical refractory parts 14 are stacked to form a muffle 11 having a upright hollow 11a. Continuous covering plates made of a refractory substance are placed along the inner wall of the muffles so that they cover the inner wall. Then. continuous substances 12 of silicon carbide to be fired are placed upright along the covering plates 18 so that they support one another to fulfill the hollow part. Firing is carried out. Thus, the substances to be fired can avoid undertaking local force whereby the products are prevented from cracking and breaking off.
