THERMOPLASTIC RESIN COMPOSITION

PURPOSE:To obtain a thermoplastic resin composition having a good balance between rigidity and heat resistance and improved gasoline crack resistance under stress and impact resistance by mixing a polyphenylene ether with a specified hydrogenated block copolymer and a polyolefin polymer in such a way that the hydrogenated block copolymer may be dispersed in the composition in a specified state. CONSTITUTION:This thermoplastic resin composition contains a polyphenylene ether (a) and a hydrogenated block copolymer (b) of a Young's modulus >=1500kg/cm<2> and a polyolefin polymer (c). The mixing ratio is such that the (a)/(b) weight ratio is 60/40-95/5, and the content of component (c) is 5-15wt.% based on the whole composition. It is necessary that at least 90% of the hydrogenated conjugated diene compound-based polymer blocks of the hydrogenated block copolymer should be dispersed in the polyphenylene ether in the from of a minor axis length <=0.3mum. As component (b), one prepared by hydrogenating a block copolymer comprising at least one vinyl aromatic compound-based polymer block segment and at least one conjugated diene compound-based polymer block segment is used.
