PURPOSE:To obtain sintered products of high thermal conductivity with a reduced amount of a sintering auxiliary in a shortened sintering time by adding a metal alkoxide dissolved in a solvent to an aluminum nitride powder and effecting the operations from weighing to sintering under specific conditions. CONSTITUTION:A sintering auxiliary of a metal alkoxide dissolved in a solvent is added to an aluminum nitride powder, then a series of the processes of from weighing of the starting substances to sintering are carried out in an inert atmosphere free from oxygen and hydrogen and the sintering is effected at a pressure of from 50 to 3,000kg/cm<2>. The sintering auxiliary is added in the form of a solution in which the auxiliary of a metal alkoxide is dissolved in a solvent. This addition enables a homogeneous dispersion of the molecular level, thus excessive addition of the auxiliary can be avoided and its amount is saved in 50 to 80wt.% in comparison with the conventional process. |
