PURPOSE:To simplify the constitution of a large-scale electronic computer by using a Josephson element to constitute an electronic computer containing at least a control memory, a data bus, a register and a logical arithmetic circuit, respectively. CONSTITUTION:A Josephson element is used to a control memory, a data bus, a register and a logical arithmetic circuit respectively which constitute a microprogram control system. For instance, the Josephson junctions 420 and 420' are used to the memories 400 at intersecting points of word lines 404 and bit lines 405 of a matrix which forms an ROM as shown in the figure. Then the cell 400 is set under a voltage state or a superconductive state by the level (1) or (0) of the signal. At the same time, a switching circuit of an OR circuit consists of three Josephson junctions and two inductances. The Josephson elements are also used to other logical circuits. Thus the constitution of a large-scale electronic computer can be simplified with combinations of microinstructions. |
