<p>A countertop pressurized beverage system includes an outer housing (12, 14), and an inner flexible Mylar bag (22) containing a potable liquid (24), such as beer or a carbonated beverage, requiring pressurization. A closed plastic container (20) capable of withstanding substantial pressure encloses the flexible bag (22), and is mounted within the housing (12, 14). A compressor (26) supplies air to the closed plastic container (20) at a pre-set level, in order to maintain carbonation in the potable liquid (24). A thermoelectric cooling unit (44) is mounted on the bottom of the countertop unit to provide cooling, to a plate (52) which is mounted in thermally conductive proximity below the closed plastic housing (20) at the bottom thereof where the flexible bag (22) rests against the bottom of the plastic container (20). A cap (62) is placed over a mouth opening on the closed plastic container (20). A closure plug (74) is threaded at the center of the cap, and a spigot assembly (82) may be screwed into the closure plug (74).</p> |
