PURPOSE:To obtain a polyolefin composition prevented from being deteriorated by thermal oxidation during melt molding by mixing a polyolefin with a 6- bydroxycoumarone compound and a phosphite compound in a specified ratio. CONSTITUTION:A polyolefin composition prepared by mixing 100 pts.wt. polyolefin with 0.01-1 pt.wt. each of at least one phosphite compound selected from among a 6-hydroxycoumarone compound of formula I, a phosphite compound of formula II, and a phosphite compound of formula III. In the formulas, R1-R3 are each H or a 1-4C alkyl; R4 is a 1-16C alkyl or an alkylene; R5 is a 1-4C alkylidene, Ar1 is an alkylaryl; Ar2 and Ar3 are each an alkylarylene. When the amount of addition is below 0.01 pt.wt., the processing stability and discoloration resistance of the polyolefin composition cannot be fully exhibited, and when this amount is above 1 pt.wt., there is no effect of further improving the processing stability and discoloration resistance, and which is uneconomical. |
