PURPOSE:To execute a flexible processing concerning picture analysis by regarding an edge line on an edge picture as a mountain range and tracking the ridge of the mountain range. CONSTITUTION:Contents shown by an address register 5 of a multi-level threshold value storage table 4 are read with a threshold value set circuit 12 and stored in a threshold value register 6 as threshold value block data. Then, the address register 5 is incremented. A ridge line track circuit 15 tracks the ridge line on an edge picture 1 based on track start data and stores an obtained linear graphic in a ridge line data area 11 as a dot sequence. Thus, since a tracking method is controlled by a multi-level threshold value setting method based on the height information of the ridge, track interruption, fine feathering or parallel part at small intervals, etc., can be prevented from being included in the linear graphic to be obtained. |
