PURPOSE:To provide superior resistance to light, heat and moisture by using a compound represented by a specified formula as a cyan coupler. CONSTITUTION:A color photographic sensitive silver halide material is imagewise processed in the presence of a compound represented by general formula I as a phenolic cyan coupler to form a cyan dye image. Thus, the light-resistance and color developability are improved. In the formula, each of R<1> and R<2> is H, alkyl, aryl, alkenyl, cycloalkyl, acyl or a heterocyclic group, R<1> and R<2> may be bonded to each other to form a 5- or 6-membered ring, R<3> is a parasitic group, X is H or a group capable of being eliminated in a coupling reaction with the oxidation product of a color developing agent, n is 0 or 1, and when R<1> and R<2> bond to each other to form a 5- or 6-membered ring, atoms for forming the ring are selected from C, O, N and S. |
