摘要

PURPOSE:To prevent the formation and growth of a toner layer on a developer carrying body and to improve image quality by forming the electric field in the direction backward from the direction of the electric field generated between the image carrying body and the developer carrying body between the developer carrying body and conductive member. CONSTITUTION:The greater part on a photosensitive body 1 in reversal development is the non-image part of high potential and therefore the electric field is formed in the direction toward a developing roller 21 from the body 1. The positive electrostatically charged toner in the developer magnetic brush formed on the developing roller 21 is attracted toward the roller 21 side in the electric field and the toner sticks to the circumferential surface of the roller 21. The electric field in the direction toward the conductive member 27 side is formed between the freshly provided sticking to the circumferential surface of the roller 21 toward the member 27 side, thereby preventing the formation and growth of the toner layer. The toner attracted to the member 27 is recovered into a developer housing part 25 by the rotation of a sleeve 31. The development with high image density and less fogging of the ground texture without an edge effect is thus made possible.
