PURPOSE:To contrive to enhance the strength of a molded item by shifting the position of weld by a method wherein a shape, in which the volumes of a left and a right mounting parts partitioned by the center line of a through hole or recess are made different from each other by the specified value or more, is produced. CONSTITUTION:When an item molded out of sheet molding compound, which is prepared by mixing glass fibers with thermosetting resin, is intended to be produced in a shape having a through hole 2 or a recess for mounting at its mounting part 1 or the like, a shape, in which the volumes of a left and a right mounting parts partitioned by the center line of said through hole 2 or recess are different from each other by 5% or more, is produced. As a result, the flow of resin at molding changes so as to shift the position of weld, which is at the minimum distance outside the mounting part from the previous mounting hole, leftwards or rightwards, resulting in making the length of the weld longer and the strength of the mounting part higher by the increase of said length. For example, the angles of corner (r) and R are set to be 40 deg., x:y is made to be 3:4 (or (x) is made to be 84mm and (y) is made to be 112mm), (z) is made to be 40mm, the through hole 2 is made top be a circle having a diameter of 20mm at the middle of the dimension (z) and the wall thickness of the mounting part is made to be 4mm. |
