A novel hydrocarbon conversion catalyst, a method of preparation of this catalyst and a process for its use are disclosed. The catalyst comprises a platinum group component, a Group IVA component and a bifurcated alkali component on a carrier material. The bifurcated alkali component comprises about 0.05 to about 2 wt. % of lithium and about 0.05 to about 3 wt. % potassium, based on weight of the composite. The catalyst has particular utility as a hydrocarbon dehydrogenation catalyst. |
