PURPOSE: To obtain a direct electrostatic printer which can use a normal chip electronic circuit of a comparatively low cost and of a low voltage, and which is provided with a desirable cleaning device by arranging a printing head between a toner supplying source and a recording medium and providing a control electrode on the toner supplying side of the printing head. CONSTITUTION: The toner supplying device 18 is a charged toner conveyer 18, an electrostatic traveling wave pattern produced by the conveyer 18 moves changed toner particles 34 supplied to the conveyer 18 from a developer supplying source 20 to an area facing the aperture 40 of a printing head structure 14 along the conveyer 18. The printing head structure 14 is a laminated member including an insulating base member 35, a surface close to the recording medium 46 is coated with a shield 36, and a sectioned conductive layer 37 is laminated on a surface close to the toner supplying device 18 so as to constitute many control electrodes. Address control is performed by a DC voltage source 41 and a switch 45 so as to perform addressing in the case the toner 34 passes the aperture 40. |
