<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a handwriting input device of simple constitution which is very economical by detecting a depression position on a ferroelectric liquid crystal panel from an electromotive force generated between counter electrodes and controlling the display state. CONSTITUTION:When the ferroelectric liquid crystal panel LP is pressed, the depression position is detected by switching means and detecting means CHX and DTX, and CHY and DTY in the form of the electromotive force generated between the counter electrodes ELX and FLY at the depression position. The display state at the depression position on the panel LP is changed through a control means CR, etc., according to the detection result. Neither a transparent tablet nor a special pen, etc., is therefore required and the device is composed of only the display panel, so that the handwriting input device of simple constitution which is very economical is obtained.</p> |
