In order to manufacture a working copy of an endless metallic strip (3) provided with an embossed pattern for use in the continuous production of pressed laminates, a polyurethane casting in the form of an endless elastic plastic strip (10) is made of the surface of a first endless strip (3) provided with the embossed pattern. An endless electroplated strip (12) which constitutes a working copy is manufactured by applying an electroplated metal coating on the impression surface of the plastic strip (10), which is then detached. The electroplated strip (12) is an exact copy of the master shape and is used for embossing pressed laminates in a press.
