PURPOSE:To simplify the constitution and to reduce the cost without need of separate provision of a mixing control signal by using an output of a quadrat ic differentiating filter of an edge emphasis means so as to control the mixing ratio of outputs of the edge emphasis means and a smoothing means or the selection of either of both the outputs. CONSTITUTION:An MTF correction circuit 109 applies a spatial filter processing to prevent production of edge loss and moire stripes caused by a binarizing processing implemented at a post stage gradation reproduction circuit 110, that is, edge emphasis processing by a quadratic differentiating filter and smoothing processing by a smoothing filter to picture data D87-80 subject to various signal processings. Quadratic differentiating picture data ED 08-00 in 9-bit outputted from a quadratic differentiating filter section 720 are fed to an emphasis control ROM 721 and outputted to a mixture processing section 704 as a mixture control signal of the output of an edge emphasis processing section 702 and an output of a smoothing processing section 703. |
