PURPOSE:To provide for wide range stepless speed change in a machine which greatly varies in torque by providing the machine with a plurality of conical rollers and a speed change ring which coincidently makes frictional engagement with the conical faces of these rollers and determining the position of the speed change ring by means of a cam device. CONSTITUTION:Each of a plurality of conical rollers 3 has the conical face 3a varying the effective radius and serving as the friction transmitting face, the friction transmitting face 3b having the arc section and the flat friction transmitting face 3c two of the latters making the frictional engagement with friction transmitting wheels 5 and 6, respectively which are placed on input and output shafts 1 and 2. The rollers 3 are interposed between the transmitting wheels 5 and 6. A speed change ring 4 which can be moved in the axial direction is made in contact with the external peripheries of the rollers 3 and applied to the left, that is, in the direction of transmitting hgh speed by a spring 11 of an action restricting device 10. The speed change ring 4 is operated that it is made in engagement with the first and second cam faces 14 and 15 of a cam device 12 via a pin 17 so as to reduce the revolution speed of the output shaft 2 in association with increasing of the torque which is applied to the output shaft 2. |
