An ignition timing control device comprises: a throttle valve opening detection device (15) to detect the throttle valve opening of an IC engine; an opening retention detection device to generate an opening retention detection signal when the device detects that a changed width of the throttle opening lies for a specific time or longer inside a specific width in a state where the valve opening is smaller than a specific minimal opening; a device to generate a rapid acceleration detection signal when the device detects that for a second specific time or shorter, directly after the generation of the opening retention detection signal, the opening of the throttle valve increases from the specific minimal opening to more than a specific large opening; and a delay control device to delay the ignition timing of the IC engine in response to the rapid acceleration detection signal
