PURPOSE:To improve the resistance of a Pd-Ru type sliding contact material to wear due to sliding along a commutator when the contact material is used as the material of a brush contact by adding specified components to the contact material. CONSTITUTION:When an alloy having a composition consisting of 87-93wt% Pd and 7-13wt% Ru is used as the material of a brush contact, 1-10wt% Sb and 0.5-3wt% at least one among In, Ti, Tl and Zr are added to the alloy without changing the ratio in the composition. To the alloy may be further added 0.01- 0.5wt% Fe group element such as Fe or Ni. An intermetallic compound is dispersed, and the grains are made fine, so the resistance to wear due to sliding along a commutator is improved. |
