PURPOSE:To improve wear resistance of a portion where parts make contact with each other by a method wherein a contact surface between parts making contact with each other in sodium is covered with a surface curing material, e.g. ceramics containing chrome carbide. CONSTITUTION:At a joint between a heat transfer pipe 5 and a tube plate 4 of an intermediate heat exchanger, ceramics 7 containing Cr carbide is applied on the whole periphery of the outer wall of a heat transfer pipe 5 making contact with the through-hole of a tubesheet 4 throughout length approximately equal to the thickness of the tubesheet 4. A surface curing material, e.g. ceramics containing Cr carbide, has high wear resistance and is favorable in suitability in terms of corrosion resistance to Na, and serves to prevent the occurrence of fusing during contact of metallic parts with each other. This constitution enables reduction of corrosion occurring to a gap produced resulting from contact of the constituting parts of a device, used in Na environment, with each other, fusing of parts to each other, and the damage of a part due to wear occasioned by a non-steady slide action. |
