PURPOSE:To obtain rare-earth alloy powder exhibiting high cost-performance and obtain a bonded magnet made of the alloy powder by a method wherein rare-earth alloy powder which is composed of M which denotes at least one among rare-earth metals, Fe and unavoidable impurity and has a specific composition is used as the material of the bonded magnet. CONSTITUTION:Rare-earth alloy powder for a bonded magnet is composed of R which denotes at least one among rare-earth metals, Co, Mn, M which denotes at least one among Al, v, W and Mo, Fe and unavoidable impurity. The composition of the rare-earth alloy is expressed by a formula: R(Fe1-x-y-zCoxSiyMz)alpha, wherein 11<=alpha<=13, 0.04<=x<=0.4, 0<y<0.5, 0<z<0.5 and 0<y+z<0.5, and has a fine crystal texture with a grain diameter not larger than 3000Angstrom . The bonded magnet is made of the alloy powder and binder. With this constitution, rare-earth alloy powder having excellent magnetic characteristics and a bonded magnet made of the alloy powder can be obtained. |
