PURPOSE:To obtain a high performance, thick and long radial anisotropic magnet by a method wherein an orienting magnetic field not lower than 3kOe is applied in order to magnetically orient magnetic powder radially. CONSTITUTION:An orienting magnetic. field is applied in order to magnetically. orient magnetic powder radially. At least one element among rare-earth elements of Y, La, Ce, Pr, Nd, Pm, Sm, Eu, Gd, Td, Dy, B, Er, Tm, Yb and Lu can be satisfactorily employed as rare-earth metal. Even didymium (Pr-Nd) and cerium didymium (Ce-Pr-Nd) which are advantageous from supply and coat viewpoints can provide sufficient magnetic characteristics. Further, by adding a little quantity of a heavy rare-earth element such as Dy and Tb, a coercive force can be increased and the practical imprevement of temperature characteristics can be achieved. With this constitution, the magnetic powder can be sufficiently oriented by a low magnetic field and the magnetic characteristics of a radial anisotropic magnet can be improved and a thick and long radial anisotropic magnet can be obtained. |
