PURPOSE:To reduce changes in the stepping force by selecting materials with less compression permanent set at high temperatures, and with less difference in hardness at high and low temperatures, as the matrix. CONSTITUTION:A matrix, consisting of at least two different kinds of heat and oil resistant rubber containing copolymer consisting of an allyl glycidyl ether and an epichlorohydrin, is added with a vulcanizing agent together with other additives and carbon black. This composition is further mixed with a metallic oxide to produce heat and oil resistant friction material for wet use. The copolymer consisting of the allyl glycidyl ether and epichlorohydrin is characterized in its special molecular struction, i.e., having double bonds and allyl groups in a polymer, and having double bonds in a polymer allows the copolymer to change in hardness less than the epichlorohydrin. This prevents the matrix blended with basic acrylic rubber from being hardened in high-temperature oil. |
